# Available Races The following "races" are available to you: - [[#Android]] - [[#Bioroid]] - [[#Cyborg]] - [[#Human 1.0]] - [[#Human 2.0]] - [[#Hybrid]] > [!Question] What about Simulacra? > Simulacra are typically excluded from play, as they are short-lived human clones with cybernetic brains meant to do labor. If your campaign wishes to explore the dark territory of slavery and personhood, you may consider playing one. Otherwise, it's best to steer clear. ^simulacra ## Android Unlike most races mentioned here, androids are completely artificial. Their wombs are assembly lines, and their brains are state-of-the-art wetware, an artificial brain grown from living neurons. They see through cameras, and hear through microphones. And they are typically the property of corporations, designed with a task in mind - customer service, manual labor, driving, prostitution, or even performance arts. Once in a while however, an android will have what is called an "epiphany". It may ask "What does it mean to love?", or "What is the purpose of hate?". This will cause it to question its place in society, and seek freedom at any cost. > [!tip] Template - Android > - **Construct:** Androids add +2 to recover from being Shaken, don’t breathe, ignore one level of Wound modifiers, and are immune to poison and disease. Constructs cannot heal naturally. > - **Dependency:** One hour of electrical charging per 24 hours. Without the required power, a character becomes Fatigued each day until Incapacitated. A day after that, they perish. Each hour spent recovering with the appropriate charge restores a level of Fatigue. > - **[[IZ3 Available Hindrances#Driven (Minor or Major)|Driven]] (Major):** You are hell-bent on dealing with something. It might be getting revenge on those who made you, or something more personal, like helping others of your kind get free of their masters. > - **Environmental Weakness (Electricity):** −4 to resist electrical hazards, +4 damage from electrical attacks including EMP. > - **[[IZ3 Available Hindrances#Outsider (Minor or Major)|Outsider]] (Major):** Androids subtract 2 from Persuasion rolls when interacting with anyone besides other androids and have no legal rights in most areas (they’re generally considered property). > - **Skilled:** Androids are programmed with broad educational information. They start with Academics d4. > - **Strong:** Androids are built for physical activity. They start with d6 Strength instead of d4. This increases maximum Strength to d12+1. ^turing ## Bioroid Bioroids are vat-grown humans with an artificial computer brain. They are designed for the purpose of extending life, by having a wealthy person's consciousness "dubbed" onto the computer brain. Occastionally, they may be used in military experiments to create supersoldiers. Either way, they may be easily-identified by the prominent barcodes tattooed on their body. Most people view bioroids with prejudice. The poor hate them as a symbol of the rich; the fearful look at them as mass murderers; the ignorant view them as less than human. > [!tip] Template - Bioroid > - **Infiltrator:** Bioroids are programmed with infiltration software, starting with Persuasion d6 instead of d4. This increases maximum Persuasion to d12+1. > - **Natural Warrior:** Bioroids are programmed with extensive combat protocols. They start with Fighting (Blades) d4, Shooting (Pistols) d4, and the Martial Artist Edge. > - **[[IZ3 Available Hindrances#Ruthless (Minor or Major)|Ruthless]] (Minor):** You are hell-bent on dealing with something. This usually changes to [[IZ3 Available Hindrances#Wanted (Minor or Major)|Wanted]] (Major, creator company) or [[IZ3 Available Hindrances#Enemy (Minor or Major)|Enemy]] (Major) when revealed. > - **Swift:** Bioroids are designed with enhanced coordination and reflexes. They start with d6 Agility instead of d4. This increases maximum Agility to d12+1. ^bios ## Cyborg A cyborg is an individual that has undergone replacement of their entire body with a machine. Their brain and CNS are ensconsed in a humanoid metal body that is much tougher, but cannot feel. This often finds them employment in dangerous fields, such as HAZMAT and the military or police, and cyborgs do well in these professions. A cyborg's reactions differentiate them from true artificial life. They know what it meant to once have been human. > [!tip] Template - Bioroid > - **Armor Plating:** Heavy composite plating grants Armor +6 and stacks with worn armor. Cyborgs are built to be tanks; as such, they begin with the maximum armor that can be added to the frame. They can never upgrade this stat with augmentations of any type. > - **Hardy:** Sturdy construction mitigates damage. A second Shaken result in combat does not cause a Wound. > - **No Vital Organs:** Machinery replaces a cyborg’s internal organs. Redundant systems mean the cyborg takes no additional damage from Called Shots except Weakness. > - **[[IZ3 Available Hindrances#Outsider (Minor or Major)|Outsider]] (Minor):** Most people distrust cyborgs for some reason. Perhaps it’s their synthetic speech patterns, the chemical-induced emotional numbness, or the hulking metal frame. Cyborgs subtract 2 from Persuasion rolls with all but others of their kind. > - **Weakness (Head shot):** Called Shots to a cyborg’s head do the usual +4 damage. ^cyber ## Human 1.0 Run-of-the-mill Humanity dominates planet Earth, and the solar system. They are the baseline, and adaptable. Capable of great compassion, some of them can also inflict great cruelty. And some of them are exceptional. > [!tip] Template - Human 1.0 > **Adaptable:** Free Novice Edge of their choice. > **Mocked:** All humans start with the [[IZ3 Available Edges#Strong Willed|Strong Willed]] Edge. ^humanity ## Human 2.0 "H2s" stand out in a crowd. Thanks to the work of a geneticist in their mother's first trimester, they have a stacked deck of advantages the regular person doesn't have. Most H2s are exerting their influence among the world's upper classes. The few that venture to its seedy underbelly are seeking adventure. > [!tip] Template - Human 2.0 > - **Better Genetics:** Superior genetics and training provide the ability to overcome all challenges. > - **[[IZ3 Available Hindrances#Overconfident (Major)|Overconfident]]:** Human 2.0 have the Overconfident Hindrance. > - **Better Physical Capabilities:** Human 2.0 starts with d6 in one Attribute of their choice instead of d4. This increases the maximum for that Attribute to d12+1. > - **Skilled:** Human 2.0 gain one extra skill at d6. > - **Prettier:** Human 2.0 starts with the Attractive Edge or with a d6 Vigor instead of a D4. This increases the maximum for that Attribute to d12 + 1. ^h2 ## Hybrid Hybrids are individuals that have their genes spliced with animal DNA. The results of this hybridization can vary wildly, but in this game of *Interface Zero*, it usually results in cute animal ears and slightly animalistic traits in the person. Example depicted is of an Ursine hybrid. but dozens of types exist. > [!tip] Template - Ursine-Human Hybrid > **Strong:** Strength d6, Max d12+1 > **Claws: ** Str+d4, +2 to Athletics (climbing) on rough or soft surfaces > **Low Light Vision: ** Ignore penalties for Dim or Dark illumination, but not pitch blackness. > **Quirk: ** Lethargic and prone to resting. ^ursidae
